Fine
Variety has broken the news that Nastassja Kinski (”Cat People,” “Inland Empire” and guilty pleasure “Terminal Velocity”) is rumoured by Variety to be in talks to play the key role of German movie star turned Allie Bridget Von Hammersmark in Quentin Tarantino’s World War II epic “Inglorious Bastards”.
I love Nastassja, the daughter of the late German actor Klaus Kinski, in everything I see her in. She is hot and has talent. Not who I pictured in the role. I would have gone with Carice van Houten (”Black Book”) in her brunette nativity. I’m fairly certain Quentin has it all together, have we ever seen him miscast anyone ? No.
I’d throw my Black Book away.
David Krumholtz (”Superbad”) is in talks to play a member of Aldo Raine’s Jewish-American Nazi-killing squad and, the best news yet for me, Simon Pegg (”Shaun of the Dead”, “Hot Fuzz” and “Star Trek 09″) is up for Lt. Archie Hicox, the British officer who helps the Bastard’s mission in Nazi-occupied Europe. Originally rumoured to be for Tim Roth, but Roth is currently busy with FAUX Network obligations.
Officially ? Brad Pitt is aboard the project as Aldo Raine as is writer/director/actor Eli Roth (”Grindhosue”).
B.J. Novak (”The Office”) is in discussion to play Basterd soldier, Private Utivich.
And if you’ve yet to read the script, you can get it here.
This was sent to me by one of our subscribers and I’m jumping up and down in excitement. According to an article on EOnline rumours that Brad Pitt is being considered to be one of Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Bastards.
There is not one single film I am more anticipating than this one.

The Oscar-winning writer-director has officially confirmed production will start in October on his long-shelved WW II epic and Pitt’s name is surfacing as one of the leads (along with Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Arie Verveen, Bruce Willis and Sylvester Stallone; rumours rumours rumours)
According to this bite from The Hollywood Reporter, Tarantino plans to do the bulk of the shooting in Europe and hopes to finish the war drama in time to submit to next May’s Cannes Film Festival. That would seem to fit Pitt’s schedule, having set up a homebase in France awaiting Angelina Jolie’s birth.
